Keratin Hair Smoothing Therapy | Overview
The beauty of our Hair Smoothing Treatment is that it is Keratin-based. Keratin is a protein that is found naturally in our hair and nails. During this treatment, the keratin is locked deep within your hair enveloping it with a special coating that leaves your hair smooth, silky and shiny.
The treatment makes hair smoother so it usually looks a little straighter (although not poker straight). It halves the time it takes to style your hair and is a superb way to boost the health of your hair.
How long does it take to achieve smooth hair?
The hair smoothing application process takes between 2-3 hours depending on the length and thickness of your hair. After the keratin solution has been applied, your hair is left for 45 minutes to allow it to absorb into the hair shaft.
Your hair is then blow dried and ironed to seal and lock in the moisture which hydrates the hair to create a glossy, smoother finish.
It is important that you leave the hair in its natural state for three days. That means you cannot use any hair accessories, hair ties, water or shampoo.
After the three day period, you can wash your hair using the recommended aftercare products.
Should I have my colour service before or after my Keratin Smoothing Treatment?
It’s better to have your colour service before having the treatment so that the colour is locked in. Having the treatment after will enhance the vibrancy of the colour. If you can’t colour before hand, wait at least 7 days after treatment to colour. Still unsure?
